Clean CARFAX (see below)

Original Miles - approx. 99,800 (will be driven to 944West)

The 1983 model is the first US 944 and is unique. It comes with a manual steering rack, manual sunroof and no power hatch release along with a few other bits carried over from the 924.

This Particular car I believe to be original to Southern California. It was found in 2018 in a garage after sitting since the early 90's. It had approx 91k miles when I acquired it in Nov. 2019. The car is very well preserved with mostly original paint. The Passenger front fender has been repaired and has an old paint job on it that has blemishes. The cars has some dings, scratches, and stone chips as a 40yr old car does.

The interior is also in great shape, a few cracks in the dash as usual. I upgraded to leather sport seats which have some wear on the bolsters. The patina fits the car well.

This car was very original when I acquired it and have since gone through almost all of the systems. The Clutch Master and Slave were replaced shortly before I acquired the car. A very mechanically sound car. It shifts amazing, the motor is strong, Oil pressure is perfect. I run LiquiMoly 10w60 Synthetic.

The issues that remain are:

Turn signals are inoperative, I have replaced the combination switch as well as the relay with no luck, further investigation needed. The power windows worked for the last 4 years, but as I was getting the car ready for Rennsport in September 2023, the passenger window becam inoperable. So I installed Manual crank windows in the car in the spirit of all the other analog bits of the 1983 model. All other gauges, switches, lights and components work.

The fuel tank vent lines are cracked which means if you fill the fuel tank all the way up, it will seep out and you will smell fuel. Unfortunately this is the case with every early 944.

Regardless of the quirks, this is such a nice driving car. Check out @pasadena_yellow on instagram for more photos over the years.
